Before And After School Care
The Before and After School Program is for students in Plano, Sandwich, Somonauk and Yorkville school districts and provides an inclusive atmosphere where children are nurtured and encouraged to have fun and cultivate friendships. During our program, staff honor families by allocating time and assistance when needed for students to complete homework successfully. The kids in our program will have the choice to do Arts & Humanities, Character Development, Health & Fitness and much more. We offer a light breakfast in the morning and a snack during in the afternoon. We are a nut-free program.
On days off school, our program offers Activity Days. Registration for Activity Days is separate from the our Before & After Enrichment Program and is $50 per day. Activity days are not included in the Before & After School rate.

- Monday through Friday on all school attendance days
- Mornings begin at 6:30 am until the school bell

All students enrolled in full-time Before & After School Care (3-5 days, AM & PM) receive a free family membership.
Staff
Our staff is energetic and well-trained with a “kid first” attitude. Employees complete more than 18 hours of training including DCFS Mandated Reporter, Gateways Child Development, Health, and Safety Basics, CPR certification, First Aid certification and an extensive background check. The staff exemplifies Y core values of caring, respect, responsibility, and honesty in their work with your children.
Before & After Schedule
Our before & after school program begins on the first day of school and ends on the last day of school.
Financial Assistance
The Fox Valley Family YMCA accepts DHS payments. Additionally, through our generous donors, the YMCA offers financial assistance for those who qualify. Please see the front desk for details.
Special Needs Students
The Fox Valley Family YMCA will make every reasonable effort to accommodate children with special needs. However, our Program is not equipped to handle children that require 1:1 attention on a regular basis. Please contact the VP of Youth Development with any questions or concerns at [email protected]

Autumn Creek

The morning session starts at 6:30 am and concludes when the regular school day begins. The afternoon session begins right after school ends and runs until 6:00 pm. Parents have the option to choose either before school care, after school care, or both.
During the morning session, children will be served a light breakfast snack that is free from nuts. In the afternoon, a light nut-free snack will be provided. Additionally, assistance with homework will be available to the students.
